Regional Overview - UKTI

By Kevin McCole

As one of the so-called ‘BRIC economies’, India’s recession-busting growth (currently still at over 5% per annum) should make it an obvious and important market for Devon based exporters of goods and services, including consumer products. This is because India’s growth is driven largely by the domestic demand of over 1.2 billion people, almost half of which are under 24 years of age. But just how easy is it to access this market? The UK India Business Council helps to provide the resource, knowledge and infrastructure support vital for many UK companies to make the most of emerging opportunities in India. Kevin McCole of UKIBC explained what is in demand, where it is required and to whom it could be of interest in India.
